Description:

The Organisation requires the services of a Senior Manager: Strategic Support and Stakeholder Relations in the Chief Executive Officer’s Division. This position will be based at Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Be in possession of an Honours degree in law, public administration communications, or other similar area of study.
  • Should have 5 – 8 years of experience in public/national government relations in senior management.
  • Should have a thorough knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks i.e. PFMA. Treasury regulations, SANParks policies and procedures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of administrative office procedures and systems.
  • Through knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the CEO in intergovernmental engagements.
  • Analysis of the macro-IGR trends, with specific attention to relevant National, Provincial, Local Government, and private sector stakeholders, covering all provinces
  • Facilitate processing of key decisions with National partners to ensure agreement on the implementation plan.
  • Accompany the CEO in strategic meetings and ensure that all identified actions are recorded and implemented.
  • Conduct research, network with relevant role-players, and make appropriate contact with public sector organisations.
  • Gather relevant information (key decision-making processes, strategic choices, and timing of priorities).
  • Compile presentations promoting functions, mandates, and roles.
  • Consult with the relevant public sector bodies to identify areas of mandate alignment and advise the CEO and relevant Executives of developments and ensure that these are embedded where relevant, in practice and /or policy.
  • Manage the drafting and facilitate the conclusion of implementation protocols between SANParks and prioritized state institutions
  • Advise and organize appropriate meetings, interventions, appointments, networking sessions and presentations for the CEO.
  • Manage and monitor compliance with the key components of the Inter-Government Relations agreements through liaising with the key role players tracking performance against the agreement and reporting on progress.
  • Communicate the status, engage on an ongoing basis, through reports, discussions, and feedback sessions to CEO.
  • Advise the responsible CEO and executives of issues and events of relevance to their arears of responsibility and provide the necessary support where issues IGR and stakeholder management arise.
