WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Aird & Berlis LLP is looking for a Senior Manager, Student and Associate Programs to cover a 12 to 15 month maternity leave. The application deadline for this position is Monday, November 11th by 5:00pm.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Law degree, undergraduate degree
  • Demonstrated interest in recruitment and professional development
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional development experience (preferred)
  • Previous experience as a lawyer in a leading full-service law firm (ideally at least two years)
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of the legal profession and professional services firms

Work closely with the Director, Student and Associate Programs on:

  • Student Program
  • Student Recruitment, including promotion and outreach with law schools, interviewing, hiring
  • Managing and supporting our cohorts of summer and articling students, including on-boarding, orientation, mentorship program, social events, work allocation; performance evaluation/management and coaching/development; counselling/mental health resources
  • Marketing and promotion – Firm Website, Social Media (Instagram)
  • Sponsorships, Academic Awards
  • Associate Program
  • Lateral recruitment, including interviewing, hiring and on-boarding
  • Managing and supporting our associates, including on-boarding, orientation, mentorship program, social events, work allocation; engagement and retention, performance evaluation/management and coaching/development; counselling/mental health resources
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Initiatives (including outreach and education) to further the firm’s diversity and inclusion objectives
  • Diversity and Inclusion Committee (and its various subcommittees)
  • Committees - Student Recruitment Committee, Associates Committee and Diversity & Inclusion Committee
