Responsibilities:

Manages team through planning, purchasing, and distribution processes. Provides leadership and strategic direction through management of planning activities, processes, and data/information systems. Leads systems development and implementation initiatives. Uses data-drive approach to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that optimize inventory turns and service levels, improves profitability, and supports dynamic changes in market conditions.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leads through standard Supply Chain Management activities (including but not limited to supply planning, deployment, transportation, warehousing, 3PL management, company Fleet, SC analytics, SC network optimization and strategy, S&OP, P&L and Lean manufacturing & six sigma methodology) to identify business critical issues, facilitate discussion, and drive decision making in support of supply chain goals & business objectives.
  • Uses data analytics to identify key performance metrics and ensures management is effectively deployed across broader Supply Chain team.
  • Drives and facilitates cross functional teams for critical initiatives both within the supply chain organization and across the business units.
  • Through team members, works with internal and external customers to receive schedules, forecasts and long range plans. Balances customer expectations with operational goals. Communicates with customers on planning, delivery, and quality issues.
  • Works with order management, sales & marketing, product managers, manufacturing, suppliers, distribution centers and third-party logistics providers.
  • Accountable for optimizing inventory turns - minimize excess & obsolete inventory through product life cycle management.
  • Accountable for internal inventory transaction variances, including development of action plans to address discrepancies.
  • Accountable for enhancing service levels, in conjunction with inventory goals and through distribution requirement planning and deployments. Continuously evaluates and assesses supplier performance reports consistent with agreed upon requirements to insure consistency with quality, service and delivery targets.
  • Meets with suppliers to discuss issues, performance, and future strategies. Evaluates processes and partners with them to establish Best in Class performance.

What you’ll bring

  • BS in Operations/Logistics or similar degree required and 7 years of relevant experience
  • MBA and APICS certification preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification is preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment and medical industry is preferred.
  • Able to do analysis of tradeoffs between business objectives and to think systemically
  • Strong change management skills to include embracing change, challenging status quo and making recommendations for improvements to products and processes.
  • Able to get results through team leadership and culture transformation.
  • Able to creates tools that help simplify job tasks.
  • Able to communicate across multiple levels of the organization with strong communication and presentation skills that, and able to influence the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations.
  • Capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and negotiation.
  • Strong leadership skills including broad cross-functional project management and ability to promote collaboration between departments
  • Complete, in-depth understanding of all aspects of the business including profitability, inventory turns, and service levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop rapport with other functional leaders inside Baxter

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $128,000 - $176,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
