YOUR OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a dynamic, senior-level supply chain professional to lead the Supply Chain Transformation program at Queensland Rail. This is a pivotal role where you will drive significant value, ensuring on-time delivery, cost reduction, and optimal utilization of assets and inventory. You will lead a team in supporting strategic initiatives aimed at improving and optimizing end-to-end supply chain processes, customer-centric systems, insights, reporting, and business improvement at an enterprise level.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Leading the development and management of supply chain process optimisation.
  • Reviewing supplier strategies and proposals.
  • Diagnosing, designing, and implementing performance and systems strategies.
  • Proactively managing team performance.
  • Delivering a targeted stakeholder engagement approach.
  • Developing strategies that align with QR objectives to optimize costs and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Leading the development of strategies for driving material management, material handling, and supply channels.

THIS ROLE WILL BE IDEAL FOR PEOPLE WHO POSSESS THE FOLLOWING KEY CAPABILITIES:

  • Supply Chain Domain expertise: Domain expertise in supply chain management across multitier supply and supplier segments is essential for success in this role. You will be responsible for leading the development and management of supply chain process, supplier relationship management, frameworks, policies and systems to ensure Supply Chain performance. You will execute supply chain transformation strategy aligned with QR’s objectives. You will be expected to develop advanced strategies and influence internal policies for effective management of inventories and efficient throughput of materials and supplies.
  • Strategic Thinking and Execution: You will possess a keen understanding of supply chain dynamics and be able to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans. Your analytical skills and commercial acumen will enable you to make informed decisions that drive efficiency and profitability. You will also lead the development and management of supply chain process optimization, supplier relationship management frameworks, policies, and systems.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: You will build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment that facilitates effective communication and alignment. Your ability to influence and negotiate will be essential in achieving desired outcomes. You will also nurture constructive and collaborative relationships with suppliers to enable and support the supply management life cycle.
  • Leadership and Vision: You will spearhead the transformation journey, inspiring and motivating your team to achieve exceptional results. Your ability to develop and implement effective supply chain strategies will be crucial.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: You will embrace a mindset of continuous improvement, seeking out opportunities to optimize processes and leverage technology to enhance supply chain performance.
