The growth of the Irish firm and increasing regulation and additional regulatory oversight has created a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Manager in the firm’s Professional Practice Group (PPG) specialising in Sustainability Assurance. We are looking for a high-performing, meticulous and enthusiastic candidate to join our team of audit professionals, who are building a better working world by driving thought leadership and innovation in audit quality and risk management.
THE TEAM AND THE OPPORTUNITY
The PPG team is vitally important to both our quality and growth agendas and we are looking for someone who will help us to strengthen these agendas, particularly in the emerging and exciting area of sustainability assurance and the related Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This is a truly unique opportunity for someone to build their skillset of technical matters, including the latest cutting-edge digital audit techniques, and to develop an understanding of the EY audit and assurance methodologies and risk management policies.
PPG is responsible for supporting audit and assurance quality and effective risk management within the Assurance Service Line. You will help PPG to provide our client engagement teams with support and advice, to enable them to deliver the highest quality services to their clients and to manage the risks involved in providing those services.

We are looking for someone who has a breadth of audit or assurance knowledge and experience and who is willing to learn new skills and interested in sustainability assurance; a self-starter who can work well within a team and on their own. Responsibilities:
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This role will place you at the heart of a high-performing, agile team that is committed to helping our clients and stakeholders. Key functions will include:
- Reviewing and updating our methodology and policies to reflect local Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and audit requirements
- Working closely with assurance teams in the firm to support them in their compliance with mandatory CSRD regulations
- Assist with development/delivery of training related to sustainability assurance and CSRD
- Supporting audit teams with engagement letters and letters of representation related to CSRD engagements
- Develop advanced knowledge of EU CSRD policy, law, initiatives and reporting standards
- Monitor compliance with CSRD standards and legislation and ongoing awareness of the CSRD landscape
- Supporting teams on in-depth technical audit and CSRD queries, including formal consultations
- Participating in internal and external working groups related to CSRD and other technical matters
- Communicating key updates to ensure staff are fully aware of recent changes to EY Sustainability Assurance Methodology and policy, or updates from external regulators and standard setters
- Adhering to and enforcing EY’s risk management policies and quality agenda
- Reviewing and approving internal procedures for the acceptance of clients and engagements
- Owning and implementing ISQM 1 assurance controls related to CSRD
- Being pro-active in identifying and driving forward quality initiatives which make a difference, either internally and/or to our clients
- Working on ad hoc projects as they arise
TO QUALIFY FOR THE ROLE, YOU MUST HAVE
- CAI/ACCA (or equivalent international qualification)
- Some knowledge of the CSRD assurance requirements impacting audit firms
- A minimum of five years’ post qualification experience working as an auditor, or providing sustainability assurance or other sustainability experience
- Strong project management and technical (assurance) skills
- Ability to be solutions-focused
- Good communication skills
- Strong knowledge of ISAs and other assurance standards e.g. ISAE 3000
- Passion for developing your knowledge of leading auditing techniques
- Experience dealing with C-suite level executives
