What you’ll be doing
The Talent Acquisition team delivers best-in-class experiences to enable CIBC to become the destination of choice for top talent. We provide candidates the chance to create a successful career by offering strategically aligned experiences and development opportunities. As a Sr. Manager, Talent Acquisition Sourcing, you will provide guidance and specialized knowledge across our bank, delivering high quality talent sourcing, passive candidate pipelining, productive candidate management and support for strategic recruitment initiatives. You will create and implement strategic sourcing strategies for niche roles and various lines of business across our bank, while contributing to our inclusive Talent Segment pipeline strategies. You will partner with other Talent Acquisition leaders to implement a nationally consistent Talent Acquisition brand, performance standards and structured, fact-based client engagements. Working closely with your team and partners, you will engage and manage stakeholders to enable continuous improvement, proactively monitor the external market, and implement new and emerging sourcing best practices.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days can be remote.

How you’ll succeed

  • Strategy Development - Keep up to date on labour market trends and competitor information leveraging LinkedIn Talent Insights, Talent Neuron and other research platforms/tools, providing business partners and stakeholders with insights, recommendations and strategies that can be executed to improve the quality of external hires. Build a solid understanding of the Financial Services industry and national/local market conditions (including but not limited to compensation, location, skills analysis, gender balance and more) to ensure our plans reflect these insights and position CIBC as front runner in the war for talent.
  • Act like an owner – Drive our sourcing function forward by remaining inquisitive and motived by the thrill of the hunt for talent. Enhance our current standard operating procedures by understanding industry best practices and using this knowledge to continuously develop our Talent Acquisition team. Be the face of our sourcing function and drive initiatives and strategies forward in alignment with our Centre of Excellence roadmap. Continuously research and understand critical tools and platforms on the market and how we can expand our sourcing tool kit in the race for talent.
  • Leadership – Coach and mentor a team of enthusiastic Talent Acquisition Sourcing Professionals to be a proactive, forward thinking and high performing function which anticipates and prepares for business requirements through adopting servant leadership. Lead by example through the direct management and strategic ownership of senior level and difficult-to-fill, niche requisitions.
  • Planning and reporting – Provide proactive forecasting, planning and strategic recruitment plans for future client needs. Develop relevant and timely reports on metrics, statistics and trends with proactive recommendations on required actions to meet and deliver on hiring plans/goals. Constantly seek service efficiencies and deliverables at best-in-class standards through benchmarking, process improvement and a scalable workforce model. Track team KPIs and successes through dashboard updates and regular reporting to showcase agency cost avoidance.
  • Relationship building - Engage in marketing and outreach activities to tap into the passive labour market and showcase the CIBC brand. Grow your network, deepen existing relationships, and collaborate with others to ensure candidates are connected to the right people and opportunities. Manage and deepen relationships with internal and external stakeholders; seeking new partnership opportunities for CIBC to obtain top talent while advocating for our sourcing function internally.
