Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Director, Talent, Learning & Development, the Senior Manager, Talent Management will develop and implement a comprehensive talent management framework that aligns with organizational objectives and MLSE Values. Successfully cultivating relationships across all levels of the organization, you will leverage your expertise to craft programs that improve employee engagement, promote leadership development, and drive performance excellence across the organization.
- Provide end-to-end design, development, and delivery of an integrated talent management strategy to align with organizational cycles of work, MLSE Values, and key business objectives (performance enablement, succession planning, talent reviews, etc).
- Establish routines across the organization to effectively review talent, creating actionable plans to address talent gaps and identify opportunities to promote and retain top talent.
- Collaborate and partner closely with HR Business Partners to ensure talent solutions are aligned to critical business needs that help drive performance.
- Partner with the Learning & Development team to ensure leadership gaps are addressed and organization needs are met.
- Utilize HR metrics and analytics to assess the effectiveness of talent management initiatives and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Provide HR Business Partners with the tools and resources needed to manage talent reviews, including strategic planning of the process and timelines, as well as communications and templates.
- Ensure talent assessments produce the right business outcomes.
- Support the implementation of a clearly defined performance enablement process throughout the organization.
- Foster and support full inclusion by embedding EDI practices into the talent management practice, enabling the development and movement of diverse talent across functions and business units.
- Build “talent journey maps” to provide clarity on potential career paths and opportunities for growth are clear, ensuring transparency on required skills and capabilities.
- Conduct external research to keep current on talent management best practices and industry trends to improve the identification, development, and promotion of diverse talent.
- Provide insights to support making better talent decisions and reinforce culture as it relates to selecting, evaluating, developing, and aligning talent for future success.
- Assist in preparing analysis and materials for Board/executive management review meetings and other leadership presentations.
Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years HR experience, with a specific focus on talent management; post-secondary education required.
- Strong understanding of talent management principles, leadership development, and performance management practices.
- Passionate about building and sustaining a positive workplace climate and culture focusing on employee engagement.
- Proven ability to infuse equity, diversity, and inclusion principles into talent management strategies.
- Experience in developing long-term plans and translating them into actionable programs that drive results.
- Strong work ethic and initiative; can identify challenges and implement effective solutions swiftly.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and drive change across an organization.
- Flexible self-starter who uses profile, relationships, and institutional knowledge to engage the right people to affect the right outcomes.
