Salary: The salary range for this position is CAD $59.56/Hr. - CAD $85.62/Hr.
Summary:
The Clinical Support and Research Centre (CSRC) is Providence Health Care’s second phase of development adjacent to the new St. Paul’s Hospital. We are looking for a Senior Manager to lead the planning and implementation of an interim space accommodation strategy at the existing St. Paul’s Hospital on Burrard for groups and services that will be moving into the CSRC. This will be a continuing role who will then lead the transition and move planning from the old site to the new CSRC.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- A Master’s degree in Allied Health Science, Health Administration or Business Administration from an approved educational institution, or a recognized equivalent
- Seven (7) years’ recent, related clinical planning experience including responsibility for large project and/or program management leadership of complex strategic and operational multi-site projects and consultation processes working with a wide range of stakeholder groups (including the public, senior and middle management, physicians and staff). Project Management Professional certification or education preferred
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Broad knowledge of the planning processes associated with facilities development
- Comprehensive knowledge of health care and relevant government procedures, standards and requirements
- Advanced project management skills including demonstrated effectiveness in planning and coordinating major projects from conceptual design through to transition and move completion
- Ability to provide leadership, guidance and direction to others including staff and contractors
- Strong negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to use appropriate strategies to resolve conflict and build consensus between stakeholders on critical issues
- Ability to anticipate and respond to changing priorities or unforeseen opportunities
- Ability to lead, guide and direct stakeholders including staff and contractors
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to analyze and problem-solve complex issues towards creative solutions

Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Assessing and understanding all functional requirements in providing temporary space for the various services and programs who will be moving to the CSRC
- Synthesizing needs with regards to available space at the old St. Paul’s Hospital, and creating recommendations for temporary space utilization including matching groups with vacated space and providing an overall strategy with efficiency, budget, and safety as key priorities
- Delivering minor capital projects required for readiness of temporary accommodations at the site and contribute to operational planning for groups covered under the Gap Accommodation aspect of the CSRC Project
- Establishing a governance structure and provide management and communication of budget, schedule, and risks
- Providing leadership, contract management, multidisciplinary team coordination, and oversight of consultant teams
- Ensuring the delivery of services to meet the goals, objectives, and strategic directions of the CSRC Project and Providence Health Care
- Participating in a variety of committees as required and establishes positive working relationships with parties with vested interest and project team members
A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master’s Degree in a relevant healthcare management or capital project related discipline, supplemented by formal training in project management plus seven (7) to ten (10) years’ experience in all phases of project planning, inclusive of supervisory experience, in a large complex organization such as health care; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. In addition to these requirements the following would be considered assets and differentiators in selecting the most suitable candidate for the role:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of facilities maintenance and operations for large multidisciplinary sites; ideally with clinical service delivery and operational understanding or clinical planning experience
- Experience with building infrastructure systems design and procurement, program and project management, stakeholder engagement and team leadership skills
- Experience with health authority facilities or other governmental agencies
- Transition management or move-planning experience with an understanding of the interdependencies and complexities of organizational relocations
- Have strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey and negotiate complex ideas or contractual interpretations
- Experience with interpreting construction drawings and understanding how those drawings relate to what is being built on site
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferre
