POSITION DETAILS:
Current Rate of Pay: Min = $74.07/hr, Max = $85.86/hr

Responsibilities:
- Leads and manages engineers and technologists in the technical review of engineering reports and drawings related to stormwater management, floodplain management, erosion and sediment control, and engineering design to ensure adherence to provincial legislation.
- Reviews and comments on complex multi-discipline development applications (private and public sector works) related to Subwatershed Studies, Master Environmental Service Plans (MESP), subdivision plans, site plans, and zoning amendments
- Coordinates review efforts to provide clear and concise responses on development and infrastructure applications.
- Leads and facilitates open discussion by building trust and conveying strategic intent. Actively listens to others, allowing others to engage and to clarify as needed.
- Builds and maintains external stakeholder relationships; working strategically with internal and external stakeholders, utilizing networks to establish and activate connections to achieve organizational goals and to explore new opportunities.
- Mediates amongst stakeholders to find solutions on complex flood risk issues and provides guidance on improve technical submissions to meet TRCA requirements.
- Participates in Ontario Municipal Board (OMB)/LPAT and other hearings, tribunals, investigations that may be required as part of a dispute or legal action regarding water resource engineering related applications.
- Completes QA/QC reviews of external consultant work, supporting various divisional projects and ensuring compliance with TRCA and provincial standards and guidelines.
- Participates in TRCA’s Flood Forecasting & Warning Program, acting in rotation as a Chief Flood Duty Officer with other senior engineering services staff.
- Prepares annual budget for area of responsibility by participating in the planning process for cross-division/business unit / overall organizational budget process; ensuring financial plans are in alignment with the overall divisional plan.
- Models and reinforces positive workplace culture, including change adaptation and leading stakeholders through new or changing circumstances
- Interprets policies and legislation and advocates for policy and legislative improvements.
- Responds to media inquiries and is able to be a media spokesperson and represent the TRCA in media interviews.
