Description:

MultiTech is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team in Toronto! This role will be responsible for ensuring that new production programs are launched effectively, and that existing production programs are supported with continuous improvement in quality, cost and delivery.

MultiTech Systems is a North American technology company specializing in the design and manufacturing of electronic and electromechanical product, particularly in industrial IoT.
The Canadian division of MultiTech specializes in the custom design and manufacture of high volume, low cost, high quality electronic and electromechanical assemblies. The office, located near the Toronto airport, handles all business development, engineering, product development, production control and quality functions.
Typical production processes include PCB assembly processes such as SMT, wave solder, conformal coating; and light mechanical assembly of die cast, injection molded and/or stamped components together with PCBAs.
MultiTech has a corporate office and manufacturing facility in the Minneapolis area specializing in low-volume, high-mix electronic assembly. High volume manufacturing is handled overseas. As a result of several recently won new business opportunities, MultiTech is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to add to the team in Toronto.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and follow up on product launch activities, including:
  • Development of production processes and tooling
  • Review and approval of manufacturing documentation for new products
  • Following up on build of new tooling and required sampling of new products
  • Supporting new product launches, at times on location in factories in Vietnam or China
  • Providing ongoing support and continuous improvement of existing products, including:
  • Working to improve quality, cost and delivery
  • Participation quality issue root causes and corrective/preventive actions
  • Development of automated and semi-automated production test equipment
  • Developing and supporting relationships with third party companies providing manufacturing services
  • Providing input to new product design with respect to DFM
  • Mentorship and direction of less experienced staff
