We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer – a skilled individual responsible for implementing process improvement methodologies and practices that enable optimum production output to be achieved. This includes cost reduction, process optimization, quality improvements and scrap reduction.

WHAT WE NEED

  • Technical diploma in mechanical engineering or at minimum experience in production manufacturing and automation.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of product design and engineering techniques.
  • Must be an effective communicator capable of developing a good rapport with existing and potential customers.
  • Good design aptitudes coupled with a strong background in production and assembly techniques, cognizant in product design and their specifications.
  • Possess excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • A very inquisitive mind and the ability to conceptualize product and build working models.
  • Must be fluent in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Project or similar project management software and Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities:

  • Shall ensure that all business is performed with an attention to detail and is done in accordance with the Southmedic Quality System, mission and values.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency through the elimination of waste
  • Identify and deliver manufacturing cost reductions
  • Recommend, design and implement changes to current work cell, equipment and tooling
  • Assist and provide guidance to the development, design and build of new manufacturing products and processes;
  • Improve the troubleshooting skills of production operatives and support functions
  • Shall be accountable and responsible to have a thorough knowledge of the departmental operations.
  • Works diligently with customers to ensure that their design requirements are met and are done in accordance with Southmedic Inc.’s philosophy.
  • Oversees all drawings and technical information relating to these products.
