ABOUT KOMBO

Kombo is a YC-backed, fast-growing start-up, building a global unified API for HR, payroll and recruiting systems.
We grew from 0 revenue to 3M ARR within 2 years and with a team of ±20, and are looking for our first B2B marketer to join the team, build, and scale the marketing function. For more details (and fun pictures!), check out our culture page! :)
We are enabling 200+ partners globally to focus on building their core product, while we power their integrations with thousands of customers. Instead of having to get their hands on a sandbox environment, build the integration code and figure out the edge cases dozens of times, they can integrate Kombo once and have access to hundreds of tools out-of-the-box.

ABOUT YOU

  • You have successful experience being in the driving seat of the B2B marketing function (either at a start-up, scale-up, or larger organization) and have an excellent understanding of distribution channels.
  • You don’t shy away from strategy or execution. You are an all-rounder who can zoom out and zoom in (be the main contributor behind initiatives), as well as jumping into a new area you have not covered in previous roles
  • You are looking for big shoes to fill – helping build Kombo’s entire marketing function from scratch over the next 2-3 years
  • You have excellent communication skills (written and spoken) and can translate product understanding into compelling marketing messages
  • You are curious and humble. You care about deeply understanding our customers and their needs so you can articulate and adjust your pitch depending on who you’re talking to
  • You are a problem solver. **You strive to take ownership of the tasks you own and apply your analytical skills, structured thinking, and independent working style towards solving them
  • You have a hands-on mentality. You default into action, want to gather first learnings fast, and iterate on the progress along the way
  • You have a strong technical intuition and curiosity to learn the product and understand our (technical) customers deeply
  • You enjoy working in-person with a team (we have two beautiful offices in Berlin and NYC), and value in-person collaboration

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be the first marketer on the ground driving all marketing efforts at Kombo. We are aiming to triple revenue again next year, and you would be a core component in achieving that!

You like the challenge of building a brand from the ground up by understanding:

  • our product in depth (developing our positioning, thought leadership space, etc.)
  • our customers in depth – meeting them where they are through compelling messages (content catered for them) and thoughtful distribution (understanding of the channels that work best)

to enable us to position Kombo as the market leading unified API provider for the future of work space.
You will work closely with Alex (CEO), Max (CMO), Madalina (Growth Lead) & the product and sales teams. You will start by doing both the strategy and execution for the function, and continue by building the team over the next ±3 years.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

We’re looking for an all-rounder marketer to take on a T-shaped role – deep expertise in one critical area (e.g., demand generation) and broad knowledge across other functions, making you versatile and resource-efficient.

Some areas of responsibility:

  • Content Marketing: Initiating and leading our content journey, crafting unique, data-driven content and distributing it. In 6 months, you will have written and distributed customer success stories, thought leadership content, and a strong social media presence.
  • Product Marketing: crafting our positioning, **highlighting our product’s value, working closely with product to put all our internal knowledge outside in the world. Goals:
  • increase time to value for our customers – crafting content that gets them up to speed faster
  • increase demand + conversion rates – position Kombo as a thought leader in the industry by showing deep expertise for our ICP and market
  • Build out our marketing function: We still need to build out our marketing tech stack and processes. We need your help to figure out what works, and test and scale.
