We expect that you have experience working on the development of data centre projects throughout all stages of design and construction and that you will have had some experience of direct client and contractor interaction regarding topics such as:
- Design of different cooling solutions including chilled water systems
- PUE/WUE calculations and efficiencies
- TIER levels of resilience and business continuity
- Testing and commissionin
Your Education/Profile:
- Degree in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years post-qualification experience, most of which will be in design gained within a consultancy environment.
- Chartered Engineer status (or final report and submission well progressed).
- Team player.
- A demonstrated track record in leading teams.
- Experience of managing contractors and work on site (including understanding of the commissioning process and future maintenance considerations).
- Organised and adaptable with a flexible approach to work.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Strong knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in the design (including BCAR requirements) of the Building Services Mechanical systems such as HVAC, public health, BMS/controls, etc.
- As a senior MEP grade, a core knowledge of Building Services Electrical systems
- Revit experience would be an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the Irish Market essential
Responsibilities:
This is a very exciting role, providing with you to develop into a leadership position with the support and mentoring of our large and expanding team. You will be given the support to develop your team and client leadership skills whilst taking responsibility for leading small projects and developing your multi-disciplinary knowledge.
Responsibilities will include:
- Project Planning (resources and fees).
- Managing the mechanical design concepts that encompass the latest design thinking on low energy/water data centre design, resilience, commissioning and maintenance.
- Coordinating the design analysis and working with the team to optimise systems.
- Managing the production of models, drawings, reports and specifications.
- Assuming a lead role liaising with architects, clients and other stakeholders to set the constraints of the mechanical design and co-ordinate with all other disciplines in terms of the mechanical requirements and the mechanical discipline’s influence on all others.
- Supervising and coordinating the work of others and coordinating work with engineers of other disciplines including in-house specialists.
- Assuming a lead role in with the supply chain and contractors to co-ordinate the successful delivery of the MEP installations.
- Cost estimating, procurement & cost control.
- Program and project management.
- Mentoring and development of junior colleagues and continuing your own professional development.
