Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY:
BluMetric is looking for a dynamic full time Senior Mechanical Designer to join our multi discipline CleanTech design team at our Carp Office location (this is a hybrid/remote role). The ideal candidate will be developing systems in the expanding industry of water and wastewater treatment.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS:
- Mechanical Engineer/Technologist with a minimum 10-years proven design experience.
- Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in any of the following areas of: mechanical fabrication, plumbing design, pump selection and sizing. Preference given to persons with Water and/or Wastewater experience.
- Must be an advanced user of 3D modelling and drawings in SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD system.
- Extensive experience generating/checking production ready engineering drawings.
- Experience with SolidWorks PDM considered an asset.
- Knowledge and experience in MS Office.
- Highly effective communication skillsets - reading, writing, and verbal.
- Travel and periods away from your normal place of work may be required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Currently holds or is eligible to obtain a minimum Reliability Status security clearance.

Responsibilities:
- Working with a team on the design of water and wastewater treatment systems.
- Responsible for system design, equipment layout, plumbing layouts, detail design drawings, component selection/sourcing, piping and pump sizing.
- Generation of 3D models of the complete system using SolidWorks.
- Mentoring and developing junior engineers and designers.
- Checking drawings.
- Department Processes and procedures.
- SolidWorks PDM management.
- FEA and/or CFD analysis.
- Assist in site work when required.
