Description:
DESCRIPTION:
Stantec is currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team and to support on the new construction supervision project in Abu Dhabi.
Some of the key job responsibilities of this role entail this following:
- Monitoring the Mechanical scope of works for conformance with the provisions of the contract documents and the procedures manual.
- Reviewing, approving and processing all Mechanical technical submittals.
- Answering RFI’s related to Mechanical.
- Coordinating and supervising the work of all Mechanical activities and operations.
- Reviewing contractor’s Mechanical change order proposals and preparing recommendations to RE / PM.
- Liaison with the necessary sub consultants.
- Reviewing contractors claims related to Mechanical works and preparing recommendations for claims.
- Reviewing the contractor’s project record documents relevant to their discipline.
- Managing the Mechanical inspectors.
- Analyzing laboratory and testing reports.
- Assisting with the inspection of completed works and monitoring the start-up, testing, commissioning and handover of the Mechanical works.
- Signing off on completed Mechanical works with completed documentation.
- Perform all other duties given by PM.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines: Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum Fifteen (15) years experience with minimum of 5 years in Construction Administration in UAE and 5 years in the Middle East with international Consultant firms.
- Strong technical background.
- Excellent knowledge of Mechanical systems, products and materials.
- Excellent knowledge of applicable Mechanical design and construction codes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office business solution (Excel, Word).
- Ability to review and comment properly on necessary documentation.
- Excellent understanding of specifications and Authority requirements.
- Complete project understanding in given discipline, from start to hand-over.
