ABOUT THE ROLES

The Senior Medical Practitioner will provide and supervise medical care to prisoners by delivering and evaluating medical programs and medical services required and/or provided.
The Senior Medical Practitioner coordinates hours of service and on-call responsibilities in consultation with the Health Services Manager and the Director, Medical Services.
Opportunities exist for a Part Time Senior Medical Practitioners at Melbourne Assessment Prison. Salary package for full-time position is $388,000 (including $27,500 super); and a pro-rata amount for part-time position. In addition, relocation will be considered for candidates required to move to take up their new role.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:

• Valid Australian driver’s licence and the ability to travel between locations.
• Ability to work within a prison setting, which will involve direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare.
• Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Working outside of ordinary business hours may be required.
