Responsibilities:

  • Lead the short and mid-term planning departments;
  • Ensure the weekly and monthly forecasts are updated on time and with the most up to date information;
  • Help with development of Mine EIT schedule and mentor younger engineers;
  • Compile information and plan capital and operating requirements, scheduling and forecasting in a rolling 12-month period, integrating guidance from Operations, Geology including diamond drilling, Ground Control, Seismic Risk Management, and Ventilation;
  • Be accountable to ensure required changes to stoping and development plans, due to execution variances or other unforeseen changes, are immediately assessed and put into the plan;
  • Be responsible for generating the key drivers for the creation of the operating budget, based on company strategic guidance;
  • Participate in monthly deviation analysis process, when the deviation analysis points to a corrective action required in the planning work;
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of Mines Technical Services procedures;
  • Help produce budget physicals and costs for anticipated year production;
  • Lead strategic mine planning sessions, with input from stakeholders;
  • Approve and assist with plan for all mine design and planned production with focus on short and mid-term plans;
  • Lead the team in the Managers absence as required;
  • Work with geology department to ensure plans have the most up to date geological information;
  • Develop and optimize mine design conceptual plans;
  • Lead design meetings and communicate plans to all stakeholders;
  • Effectively communicate all plans to Chief Mine Engineer
