What we offer

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Short-term planning, monthly and weekly schedules (co-ordinate inputs, develop plans and monitor variance).
Lead Open Pit Production Engineers – D&B designs, guidance, mentoring, standard setting.
Monitoring and Support – stope reconciliations, production analysis and improvement, and management of contractors.
Cost management – monitor OP costs and provide input as required for annual budget and forecasts.
Coverage of planning, production, and operational roles as required
Lead the identification, reporting and management of potential hazards and work to eliminate risk taking behaviours or actions
Maintain awareness of environmental risks and obligations around the OP mining operations areas to be able to identify at-risk activities where specialist advice may be required
About you
You will be either a resident of the Kalgoorlie/Boulder area or FIFO from Perth working an 8:6 (12-hour day) roster, Thursday to Thursday.

TO SUCCEED IN THE ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE:

A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
WA Open Pit Managers Certificate or WA First Class Managers Certificate of Competency (ideal).
5+ years mine engineering experience (planning, scheduling, D&B) ideally open pit but mix and open pit and underground is acceptable
Competent with mine design and scheduling software, Deswik (ideal)
Leadership experience in providing direction and influencing activities of others
Proven ability to identify, understand and solve complex problems.
Strong verbal and written skills to communicate numerical and graphical information.
A Positive attitude toward safety, increasing safety awareness, ability to implement safety training and set an example for others.
