SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE THAT YOU NEED

• Excellent verbal/written communication skills, able to articulate in both technical/non-technical terms depending on audience
• Understanding of the development lifecycle delivering user-centred digital solutions
• Proven experience working with Azure services, including Azure SQL Database, Function Apps, App Services, Service Bus, and Data Factory.
• Experience with C# and .NET Framework for backend services, with exposure to .NET Core.
• Strong understanding of ETL pipelines and data integration using SSIS and SSAS.
• Familiarity with Power BI for reporting and data visualisation
• Demonstrated ability to automate deployments and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with lift-and-shift migrations, transitioning legacy systems to Azure cloud environments.
• Experience managing legacy systems, including Windows Services, SOAP Web Services, and on-premise deployments.
• Knowledge of refactoring and optimising systems post-migration to meet modern architectural standards.
• Previous experience working within the Financial Services Industry would be desirable.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Hippo is recruiting Senior .Net and Azure Developer to join our Hippo Herd in our Managed Services team. You will work in multi-disciplinary teams that build, support & maintain User-Centred digital solutions that offer real value and work for everyone.
Hippo’s Senior Developers are experts in their field. You will act as a senior consultant providing technical expertise in software and data engineering practices both internally and to our clients. You will drive the team’s technical deliverables, maintain client relationships and be passionate about developing and upskilling others.

YOUR ROLE IN NUTSHELL:

• Serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) in designing, deploying, and maintaining solutions using both cloud and on-premise systems.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to explore, design and deliver solutions to client problems
• Design and manage software and database development and deployment pipelines resolving issues and potential bottlenecks before they occur
• Be a strong communicator and presenter, presenting prototypes, solutions and progress to internal/external stakeholders in a clear concise manner
• Build great relationships with your team and stakeholders, identifying and ensuring that challenges are overcome
• Involved in the recruitment of other engineers, and support other consultants in their professional development
• Promote Hippo’s Engineering Herd externally (for example through writing Blogs, Workshops, Seminars or Conferences)
