Job Description
As a Senior .NET Backend Developer, you’ll focus on designing, developing, and optimising scalable, secure, and high-performing backend systems using .NET technologies. You’ll ensure seamless integration with frontend applications and third-party services while contributing to the quality, scalability, and security of our codebase. In addition to hands-on development, you’ll take a leadership role in mentoring and guiding team members on best practices.
This role combines hands-on development with the opportunity to shape and enhance a high-quality codebase. You’ll play a key part in delivering solutions that not only meet user needs, but also uphold the highest standards of quality, performance, and security.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial experience in backend development using .NET technologies.
• Proficiency in C# programming and familiarity with the .NET framework, .NET Core, and related tools.
• Strong experience with RESTful API design and development, including best practices for integration and security.
• Expertise in database design and optimisation, particularly with SQL Server or other relational databases.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS, including deployment, scaling, and monitoring.
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with modern development practices, including CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automated testing.
• Understanding of security standards and protocols, including authentication and authorisation mechanisms.
• Proficiency in performance tuning and debugging backend systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
• A solid grasp of software design patterns and principles.
• Knowledge of containerisation tools like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes (desirable).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a consulting environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
