Responsibilities:
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Acquiring comprehensive understanding of DWDM network infrastructure principles and equipment.
- Demonstrating commitment to safety protocols when working with fiber optic cables and network equipment.
- Participating in collaborative team meetings to share knowledge and brainstorm solutions.
- Contributing to the successful deployment of new DWDM networks and network build-out.
- Assisting with network augmentations, upgrades, and troubleshooting live network issues.
- Analyzing fiber designs for network resilience and maintaining a well-documented network environment.
- Participating in assigned side projects to enhance overall network efficiency
To be successful in this role you will:
- Possess a Bachelor’s in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Possess extensive experience in DWDM network deployment, operation, troubleshooting, and design.
- Be proficient in working with equipment from common DWDM vendors.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDR) for fiber optic analysis.
- Be skilled in implementing network changes following established procedures and possess excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Have effective communication skills for technical documentation and collaboration.
- Be able to work independently, manage multiple projects, and mentor junior engineers.
- Have familiarity with core network concepts, a deep understanding of fiber optic cabling systems
