SENIOR NETWORK/CONNECTIVITY ENGINEER

The Senior Network/Connectivity Engineer for a Sandoz Infrastructure Services Connectivity Engineering team will be responsible for supporting execution, continuous improvement, service delivery and operations of a specific function /platform. Supporting developing and maintaining a technology roadmap according to the respective Service Strategies of a specific function/platform. As well as, perform the operational health deployment and lifecycle of the technology and/or platform solutions OR Design and deploy technology solutions and/or act as L4 support during major and critical incidents.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Plan, build and implement network & security infrastructure for Connectivity Network Services following business requirements and service line strategies.
  • Establish standardized network & security designs with performance attributes for monitoring, analysis, and reporting and for cost effective service creation and delivery.
  • Create and maintain documentation specific to the application, system, or technology environment (e.g., knowledge DB, functional specifications, design & build documentation etc.)
  • Assist with managing the operational health, security, lifecycle, and reliability (availability, capacity & performance) across all Connectivity service lines.
  • Establish network performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Act as L4 point of escalation for peer engineering and operations teams and lead P1 incidents / problems for the area of responsibility assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with IT Governance controls, standards and practices are followed and implemented.
  • Provide recommendations to Connectivity and peering service domains to increase effectiveness of technology solutions aimed at improving the overall availability of IT services and infrastructure components (continuous service improvement).
  • Address the needs and challenges of the evolving network and security requirements by applying technology and service solutions.
  • Stay current with system information, changes, and updates

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree in Computer Science or comparable education
  • Fluent English written and spoken presentation & communication skills
  • Significant IT experience in system development & management.
  • Experience in designing, planning, documenting, and implementing Networks using current technology across geographies and business areas.
  • Hands-on technical role, requiring the ability to multitask, prioritize, and accomplish multiple concurrent projects as well as interface with other departments and management.
  • Track record in delivering multinational projects on time, quality, and budget Experience in negotiating agreements with corporate suppliers in close co-operation with the sourcing function.
  • Superior troubleshooting skills
  • CCIE, CCNP or other comparable certification or experience, CCDA, CCDP desired

PREFERRED EXPERTISE:

  • Primarily seeking candidates with extensive knowledge and experience in Wireless technologies. This is a major contributor to the role, though not exclusively required.
