THE OPPORTUNITY

Boeing Defence Australia is shaping the future of multiple air, land and sea platforms which is delivering critical capability for the Australian Defence Force. Boeing Defence Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Networks Systems Engineer to support the delivery of the Wakulda Program.
As a highly skilled Senior Networks Systems Engineer you will apply your extensive Networks Engineering knowledge and leadership ability to support a multidisciplinary engineering team in the delivery of a complex ICT-based Air Battle Management System.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in Networks Engineering supporting complex technical development and integration projects.
  • Experience with Palo Alto (PCCET, PCNSA,PCNSE) , Cisco (CCnP) routing and switching devices.
  • Experience in subnetting & IP Schema (Defense context preferable).
  • Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles and lifecycle management, including Mandated System Reviews.
  • Experience with Change Management processes and progressing change management artefacts
  • Communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to engage, influence and negotiate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and customers.
  • Experience with aerospace and / or defence projects highly regarded.
  • Experience in supporting projects in an ASDEFCON contract environment highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of ISM security controls with an understanding of how they can influence network design decisions is desirable.
    This position is based in Brisbane.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert level design and development of ICT networking architecture.
  • Ensuring the ICT design documentation, including design decisions relating to virtual and physical network aspects of software/system architecture are captured.
  • Leading the development of ICT networking technical instructions, deployment instructions, and interface control documents.
  • Planning, implementing, and configuration management of network configuration for Mission Systems and Support Systems.
  • Technical supervision of less experienced engineers and technicians, including teaching, guiding and coaching.
  • Perform independent review in accordance with delegated engineering authority.
