KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To deliver the prioritised work programme across identified categories as directed by Senior Development Manager.
  • To ensure agreed New Project Development milestones are met.
  • To represent the department at the specified New Project Development meetings.
  • Ensure that new product samples and factory costs are available in a timely fashion for presentations (internal & external).
  • Liaise with relevant customers when required to ensure good communication of process, responding to their agenda.
  • Liaise with marketing/account manager, operations, packaging, business performance etc. to deliver project to timescale/cost.
  • Source ingredients and cost materials to support budget requirements.
  • Keep abreast of food trends within the seafood and wider industry, innovation to be at the forefront of thinking.
  • Be able to demonstrate food knowledge to internal and external customers.
  • Project manage and provide information as required for business performance, packaging, technical and operations - running trials as appropriate, to deliver end to end finished projects.
  • Where directed may have direct report responsibility or mentor Junior member of New Project Development team.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • HNC/HND (Food Science or technology) or minimum 3 years relevant experience.
  • Ideally proven experience in the development of chilled and frozen seafood and Pork products.
  • Capable of communicating and presenting effectively with internal & external customers.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong numeracy and experience in costing concept products.
  • Can demonstrate all or some career experience within Innovation in food, and must have a passion for food.

Responsibilities:

Take charge of internal and retail branded projects across Seafood and Pork categories and sites, under the guidance of your line manager. Collaborate closely with all key functions within the business to exceed customer and site expectations. Ensure top-notch compliance with food quality, hygiene, safety, and legal standards.
