Description:
MFT Employee Health and Wellbeing (EHW) service provides specialist advice and support regarding employee health issues to MFT employees and managers as well as to a variety of external clients. The EHW Service continues to provide an efficient, highly professional and cost-effective service whilst focusing activity on meeting the common challenges faced by a large Acute NHS Trust; we now look after over 28,000 employees making us the biggest Trust in the UK.
The EHW Service is a multidisciplinary team (MDT) comprising of Senior Managers, Occupational Physicians, Fitness for Work Advisers (including Occupational Health qualified nurses/specialist practitioners, Mental Health Nurse, Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist), Clinic Nurses, Psychological Support Therapists and EHW Physiotherapists delivering the Musculoskeletal service. Working with our Service Support team, the main priority is to create a dynamic approach to maximise employee health, wellbeing and productivity.
We are currently recruiting experienced practitioners to deliver our multidisciplinary fitness for work service to undertake management referral consultations and pre-employment work health assessments, working alongside our expert colleagues in providing an EHW service to our highly skilled organisation.
Are you the person we are looking for to help with this vision?
- Provide leadership and line management of the junior EHW Fitness For Work Team members across all MFT sites.
- Receive, interpret and manage highly complex health information from employees, managers and/or HR which may lead to restrictions being placed on an employee’s job role, such as addictions, blood borne viruses or RIDDOR reportable incidents; providing highly specialised advice regarding work health assessments and fitness for work assessments in line with professional standards, legal obligations and MFT policy. Communicate this information to non-clinical employees in a clear and understandable way.
- Providing structured education and training to promote the benefits that the EHW service delivers to its users/clients.
- · Support the development and management of key Trust initiatives relating to fitness for work, specifically in relation to Occupational Health, supporting delivery of MFT’s Wellbeing Strategy.
- · Work as an autonomous practitioner offering specialist advice to both managers and staff. Works in line with broad occupational polices.
Taking a business partnership approach, you will work alongside EHW colleagues to provide proactive EHW services to the Trust as well as supporting external contracts.
