Senior Occupational - Therapist

About the role
Permanent full time opportunity to deliver high level Occupational Therapy skills and knowledge in the assessment and delivery of care to patients on a Residential Aged Care (RAC) pathway. This role works within an interdisciplinary framework where the Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist work within a skill sharing model to maintain and improve the health, functional ability and quality of life of patients awaiting RAC placement. The role requires interdisciplinary skills to assess mobility and function with the aim of maintaining patients’ functional level through participation in everyday activities and exercise groups.
About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health’s values:

• Deliver high level occupational therapy clinical services as well as performing shared skills with the physiotherapist as part of the interdisciplinary model of care.
• Provide high level clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors and relevant service managers regarding service delivery, equipment, technology and the prioritisation and development of occupational therapy clinical services.
• Act as a reference point on both complex and routine clinical practice matters for HP3 occupational therapy practitioners and occupational therapy students.
