Description:

As a member of the Luxembourg based portfolio management oversight team, your role is to maintain an effective portfolio management oversight framework and processes for UCITS, AIFs and segregated mandates managed by Threadneedle Management Luxembourg. This involves monitoring of performance of the different strategies as well as analyzing operational risk aspects of the fund management business.

KEY CAPABILITIES:

  • University degree in finance or economics with prior relevant experience
  • CFA / CAIA / FRM qualification is an advantage
  • Good understanding of portfolio management activity and experience dealing with a range of different investment strategies (including alternative strategies)
  • Previous experience within Luxembourg Management Company
  • Broad knowledge of asset classes and markets, experience with LDI and MMF strategies considered as a strong advantage
  • Pro-active, self-starter with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent numerical / analytical skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Good self-organizational and time management skills; ability to work under pressure to short deadlines
  • Strong ability to use and/or learn IT tools, knowledge of Bloomberg system
  • Ability to demonstrate strong interest in industry and understanding of market environment

Responsibilities:

  • Along with the Conducting Officer – Portfolio Management, oversee various strategies / products - UCITS and AIF (including Liability Driven Investments, Money Market Funds, illiquid real assets) and segregated mandates
  • Conduct initial and on-going due diligence exercises on investment managers (including when required on-site visits)
  • Conduct on-going monitoring by analyzing reports, including risk/return analysis, attribution reports; operational issues, risk events, EMIR, best execution
  • Maintain and develop dashboards (quantitative and qualitative) for on-going monitoring of investment managers
  • Prepare, participate and review reports for the Investment Oversight Working Group, the Executive Committee, the Board of Directors both on a regular and on an ad hoc basis
  • Work closely with Investment and Operational Risk colleagues in Luxembourg and London
  • Regular review of policies, procedures and processes and ensure that the documentations comply with regulatory requirements for UCITS and AIFMD, together with any new applicable regulations
  • Review of investment policy / strategy and guidelines for segregated mandates
  • Assist with departmental and other projects as required
