Description:

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE OF THE SENIOR OPERATIONAL TECHNOLOGY ENGINEER:

  • Knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems
  • Ability to diagnose computer system failures and repair them
  • Experience of maintaining/upgrading computer systems
  • Ability to manage OT assets without direct supervision
  • Awareness of industrial automation and control systems

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SENIOR OPERATIONAL TECHNOLOGY ENGINEER:

  • Degree in a related field of IT and computing or equivalent experience

THE ROLE

As a Senior Operational Technology Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to progress your career interfacing IT assets with Operational Technology and assist in the delivery of Defence design and safety engineering projects.

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for managing the IT for OT assets and equipment, creating defined processes for all related support activities, proactively updating and upgrading IT assets (and supporting assets e.g., laptops for C&I systems), as well as providing IT knowledge to ensure timely resolution to onsite failure of PC-based systems. Further responsibility include:

  • Manage software/laptop/IT support functions
  • Undertake and/or specify PC-based maintenance for onsite assets
  • Manage software/firmware/licenses and version control
  • Undertake Risk Management of IT for OT assets
  • Provide Reactive support to PC failure and rectification
  • Ability to deliver virtualisation of support systems e.g., laptops

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of 2 days per week onsite.
