Dealing with all aspects of Forwarding and being an effective contributor and leader of the Operation Team in the Glasgow Branch.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operational activity in all facets of International and Domestic freight movements, including Import, Export by Sea, Sea-Air, Air, and/or Land.
  • Ensure Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) compliance in alignment with Corporate policy.
  • Continuously review and optimise working processes, fostering best practices
  • Ensure compliance with financial and operational metrics, collaborating with the Finance and Operational teams.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Finance teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • To ensure all customer issues are resolved in a timely and professional manner in conjunction with Regional Manager/operations Manager/Sales as required.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to go the extra mile as a standard.
  • Compliance with the Toll Group Code of Conduct and surrounding Corporate Policies
  • Perform any other duties not defined in the Job Description as reasonably requested.

Knowledge/Experience

  • Hands-on current operational experience in a multi modal/multi-directional environment
  • Educated to GCSE standard (minimum of 5) including Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Commercial awareness and financial acumen is essential in this role.
  • Working knowledge of Cargowise including Workflow and PAVE would be an advantage.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines in a timely and accurate manner.

Technical/Professional Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations and compliance.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to service excellence.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills at all levels both internal and external.

Special Conditions
Occasional travel to other Toll locations is a requirement of the role
