About The Role
The Senior Operations Officer role supports the efficiency of the admissions process by providing important data analysis, developing and maintaining required reports, and providing an analytical approach to inform day to day decision making, workload allocation and supports senior managers in high level data driven decisions.
Reporting to the Admissions Transformation Manager, the role will support in delivering an analytical, data-driven approach to process improvement, assisting with system testing, and the implementation of new software & tools to improve the staff and applicant experience. The post-holder will have line-management responsibilities for an Operations Officer within Admissions Operations (Data & Systems).
The role also supports on several other business critical processes throughout the admissions cycle that ensure a smooth-running service provision.

This is a full time role (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract. Flexible working patterns and arrangements can be discussed to suit the needs of the successful candidate.
About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Relevant work experience and/or education: We think a wide range of different work and educational experiences could support you to be successful in this role. Relevant work experience might include work in data analysis, or IT related department. Relevant educational experiences might include higher education in a related discipline, professional qualifications or other training
- Extensive use of data systems or information databases for reporting and analysis
- Experience of using variety of software, with highly developed IT skills in areas such as PowerBi, SITS (or other central record systems) & excellent Microsoft software knowledge
- Excellent ability to understand, manipulate, analyse and present numerical/statistical data in a variety of formats
- Ability to self-manage workload, using initiative to identify areas for continuous improvement that help meet departmental aims and objectives
- Excellent problem-solving skills; understanding of cause and impact of processes and ability to be solution focused and results driven
- Understanding of managing multiple stakeholder needs and identifying priorities
Desirable criteria
Qualification & Training:
- Intermediate level IT specific training or qualifications such as ITIL, DevOps, Machine Learning, Cloud computing, programming languages
- Experience of managing several data systems in a high volume and deadline driven environment
- Experience of higher education Admissions Services
