Moog is looking for a Senior Operations Project Manager to join the Operational Transformation and Projects Team in Moog Aircraft Group based in Tewkesbury. This role serves as a focal point for resolving complex problems, applying project management planning and execution methodology.
The Senior Operations Project Manager will be the designated SME for the site project process, accountable for successful project delivery in line with strategic objectives. The role will Manage the larger projects delivering to time and budget. Providing direction and management of projects of varying size and complexity. Advising and directing Operations in the day-to-day management of complex internal projects.
In addition to managing large individual projects this role will look to continuously improve project management process within Moog Tewkesbury through a combination of knowledge, experience, and demonstrated successes.
This role has one direct report, and is expected to provide leadership, coaching, and support to other areas of the business in project management methodologies and best practice.
Often the incumbent will require to pivot between presenting to Site Leadership level and Customers. The successful candidate will be confident at communicating through all levels of the business.
Key Skills and Experience
- A pragmatic individual, with attention to detail and commercial astuteness.
- Ability to lead a highly skilled multi-functional team.
- Demonstrated capability of working with all levels of staff within the business, as well as representing the company in front of customers, both within the UK and overseas.
- Capable of developing key relationships, along with maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Ability to deliver against challenging timescales.
- Ability to operate management processes, including schedule adherence, budget control and risk identification / mitigation.
- A minimum of 10 years project management with knowledge of industry standard project delivery processes is essential. PMP, APM, or other relevant qualifications are advantageous.
- A minimum of 10 years in Aerospace manufacturing is advantageous.
- Preferably educated to degree level or equivalent in Mechanical or Aeronautical engineering and / or a business-related qualification.
- Proven capability in computer literacy including specific proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project and PowerPoint.
- Expertise in a range of Project Management techniques, and the ability to select and execute methodologies to specific projects and requirements as appropriate.
- Risk and scope management/ budget control awareness.
