Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
Megaport is looking for an experienced hands-on OSS and operations automation engineer. The purpose of the role is to continue the implementation of our Network Management and Service Management system, implement synergies with existing tools and develop automation for day-to-day work. Your customers are the front line support team, customer and network operations engineering teams (NOC).
To be successful in this role you will need to be experienced in relevant technologies, have excellent interpersonal skills, have the ability to project manage dependencies across technical departments and lead the implementation of operations tools/automation strategy.
We are looking for someone who is excited to lead the journey of developing this capability, there is an abundance of high value opportunities in this space for Megaport. Proven experience in designing, implementing and maintaining OSS and BSS tools is a must. The ideal candidate would have a genuine interest in analyzing measurable operations work activity, explore opportunities to develop systemic automations and manage the design and implementations of the identified opportunities
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Analyze the business requirement in collaborations with key operations stakeholders and prepare effective solutions.
- Work with internal technology teams to architect a solution to address the business requirement.
- Present the solution to Business Unit managers and execs for sign-off.
- Own the deployment of the agreed solution; design, project management, implement, QA and release.
- Design, implement and maintain the infrastructure and applications required to deliver the capability.
- Design and implement integrations between new and existing systems.
- Ensure all systems developed are monitored and alert when failures occur.
- Maintain design and specification documentation for the assigned projects in Megaport’s KB system.
- Develop all test strategies and procedures for all OSS & BSS work and provide support to all fault analysis on programs.
- Provide upgrades to all processes and integrate all third party products into the network.
- Perform troubleshooting on all processes and resolve all issues in the OSS & BSS platform.
- Provide periodic progress reports for management consumption.
