Description
The Strategic Planning & Analytics team within GRS North America Claims is seeking a Senior or Principal Business Analyst to provide analysis and actionable insights in support of the North America Specialty Lines, Bermuda, & Canada claims operations. In this role the candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with our Field operation and develop a deep understanding of our growing Specialty Lines segment with a particular focus on our Healthcare operation, while delivering recommendations to our business partners on opportunities to improve our operational and business results.
We are seeking an energetic, driven analyst with creative problem-solving abilities who will thrive in a complex data environment. This analyst will be expected to perform research, build & analyze datasets, present findings, and recommend changes and/or take actions based on various factors (e.g., data insights, regulatory changes, feedback from quality assurance reviews, market information, etc.) to solve problems and improve business outcomes. The ideal candidate must also be a strong collaborator and able to foster a strong level of commitment among our key stakeholders including the NA Specialty Leadership Team, our NAS Claims Product Team, our Underwriting and Actuarial business partners.

THIS IS A RANGE POSTING. THE SELECTED CANDIDATE CAN EITHER BE HIRED AS A GRADE 15 (SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST) OR A GRADE 16 (PRINCIPAL BUSINESS ANALYST) DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE.

Senior Business Analyst Typical Starting Salary: $94,600 - $123,000 (depending on experience)

Principal Business Analyst Typical Starting Salary: $106,900 - $137,100 (depending on experience)Qualifications

  • Competencies typically acquired through a Bachelor`s degree or equivalent experience in addition to 6+ years of relevant experience to include business analysis work
  • Advanced influencing, relationship management & presentation skills
  • Displays strong research, problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, notable Excel & PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with SAS and/or SQL and PowerBI highly preferred
  • Strong ability to support change and impart value within an organization
  • Proven planning, organizational, analytical, decision-making and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Underwriting & Actuarial to provide insightful trend analyses on Healthcare products through Multi-disciplinary Reviews (MDRs); leads presentation of claim trend analysis to various GRS leaders
  • Helps drive enhancements in Specialty Lines claim reporting capabilities; identifies improvement opportunities and works with reporting teams to create standard tools/reports based on stakeholder specifications
  • Develops, modifies and distributes standard and ad hoc management reports/dashboards to better understand the overall business and/or unit.
  • Serves as the dedicated analyst to the Healthcare Claims profit-center working closely with their leadership team to review operational trends, patterns, gaps, and insights using descriptive analytics
  • Proactively researches and stays apprised of key industry events that impact, or potentially impact, Specialty Lines business particularly as it relates to the Healthcare industry; strives to develop subject matter expertise on factors influencing claim trends
  • As needed, conducts analyses based on operational, economic and/or financial data to identify profitability improvement opportunities
  • Partners with North America Specialty Claims Product team to drive improvements in data integrity and other strategic initiatives; builds the business case for making changes to current practices, programs, or procedures
  • Serves as a mentor to junior analysts helping to develop their technical skills and promote career advancement
