Description:

DID YOU KNOW?

In some regions our amazing products are considered to be medical devices. This means we maintain our Medical Device quality management system in compliance with ISO 13485:2016, to support the development of our groundbreaking products

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Okay, we’ve waffled long enough. Let’s get to the good bit. You.
As a Senior Packaging Designer, your role sits within the Product team. You’ll be leading the design, delivery, and management of our structural packaging portfolio. You will work closely with stakeholders from Operations and Marketing to plan, coordinate, and implement packaging projects that deliver against our product roadmap.
You’ll need to be able to think big and small. One day, you’ll be shaping our future packaging strategy, and the next, you’ll be addressing a technical challenge or collaborating with a supplier to resolve a timeline issue. You’ll bring knowledge of your craft to design and deliver ambitious and credible packaging solutions that are optimised to work within our supply chain and celebrate the Elvie brand.
We’re looking for people with a background in packaging design who have experience in managing and coordinating multiple packaging projects or possess the drive and skills to excel in this area.
Location: Hybrid working; a mix of working from our Bristol office and working remotely, occasional travel to our London office may also be required
Employment type: Permanent (please note, you must have the right to work in the UK)

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING AT ELVIE:

  • Project Management: Support the development of a commercial brief and budget for all of our packaging projects and manage the end-to-end design, prototyping and manufacturing. Collaborate with our Product, Marketing and Operations teams to ensure stakeholder alignment throughout.
  • Packaging Design: Design, visualise and prototype proof-of-concept packaging solutions to provide technical direction to our suppliers. Work with project teams to create functional and delightful protective packaging with a considered unboxing and onboarding experience.
  • Strategy and Guidance: Keep up to date with developments and trends in the field of packaging. Develop and implement packaging strategies, processes and guidelines that deliver against our evolving brand, product and operational requirements, while streamlining decision-making.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical input and feedback on packaging samples, material choices and manufacturing processes. Manage the relationships with our key packaging suppliers, alongside the Procurement team.
  • Efficiency and Sustainability Improvements: Work with our procurement and operations team to identify and manage opportunities for cost savings, sustainability improvements or to optimise our end-to-end supply chain.
  • Validation and Compliance: Set requirements and oversee validation testing of samples to ensure our packaging meets the functional, regional and supply chain requirements. Assist in the packaging configuration for primary, secondary and palletisation criteria, including the transportation testing assessments.
  • Approval and Quality Management: Review and sign-off pre-production samples. Manage packaging approvals and documentation flow (such as dielines and artwork) between suppliers and internal teams through our internal quality management system.

We’re on an exceptional journey. And we can offer you a genuinely purpose-led career with a culture built on trust, autonomy, and flexibility. In addition, we’ll give you:

  • 9-day fortnight working pattern: for our full time employees we work 9 days every fortnight with every other Friday as a non-working day for you to spend as you wish!
  • Lots of flexibility: whether it’s working from home, doing the school run, or life admin. We believe trust and flexibility allows everyone to show up as their best selves
  • Share options: we want everyone to have a stake in our success
  • 25 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays
  • Life leave days; getting married, moving house, menopause or just things that you can’t put a label on that matter to you
  • 5=10 leave: 10 days’ additional leave on your 5th and 10th years of service!
  • £100 contribution to your home working set up to spend as you see fit
  • An annual personal development allowance of £200 and unlimited access to our learning and development platform, Learnerbly
  • Generous parental leave policies; maternity & adoption (16 weeks at full pay, then 8 weeks paid at 75% followed by 15 weeks at SMP rate), paternity/partner (6 weeks at full pay to take at any point during the first year of your child’s life), shared parental leave

  • A tax-efficient group pension scheme
  • Group income protection; protect your salary if you get sick
  • A free Elvie Trainer for you to keep or give away when you join
  • Generous employee and friends & family discounts on Elvie products
  • Wellbeing support from YuLife and access to SmartHealth app with unlimited GP appointments for you and your family
  • Lovely offices in great locations, with drinks and snacks provided, along with fun social event
