Description:
We have a new opportunity for a Band 7 Research Nurse to join the Paediatric and Adolescent research team at University College London Hospital (UCLH), funded by the NIHR Clinical Research Network: North Thames, to support the delivery of high quality UKCRN portfolio research.
This is an exciting opportunity for a person who already has experience as a paediatric research nurse to gain experience in team management, clinical trial set up, and finance management as well as working on studies open in the department.
Working clinically with the team you will promote high standards of both patient care and research practice and contribute to the recruitment and retention of patients in research trials and studies. You will manage your own caseload including taking consent and collecting clinical samples and data from participants. You should have excellent communication skills, together with the ability to organise and motivate others.
You should be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and innovation when faced with challenges and will utilise management skills in conducting the research and managing your caseload. Your experience and training will allow you to communicate relevant details of the studies to potential participants to ensure their appropriate recruitment, treatment and retention. You will work collaboratively with the clinical studies team and the wider multi-disciplinary team (MDT) in the management of your own caseload of children in clinical studies.
We are currently research active in: Obesity, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Infectious Disease, Long Covid, CFS/ME, Surgery, allergy, acute care, Non-malignant Haematology and more.
Previous research experience is essential for the post. This post offers excellent opportunities to further develop your research knowledge and experience at a band 7 level whilst being supported by the Team Lead.
This post is fixed term for 12 months due to funding. Part time/full time/secondment options available.
