Responsibilities:

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE:

  • Lead International Payroll Operations : Manage payroll processes for Germany and Switzerland, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant execution in line with all deadlines and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams : Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (HR, Finance, Global Rewards, Business Units) and external payroll providers to ensure smooth, efficient payroll operations.
  • Data Management & Integrity : Accurately maintain and update payroll data using tools such as SharePoint, Workday, Payroll Reports, and Oracle, ensuring data compliance and integrity.
  • Compliance & Process Execution : Handle payroll processes according to internal policies and local legislation, working closely with third-party vendors to ensure payroll accuracy. Review gross-to-net calculations and resolve employee payroll inquiries.
  • Stay Legislatively Compliant : Ensure payroll practices remain compliant with local and international laws. Partner with cross-functional teams to update systems and processes in line with policy or legal changes.
  • Drive Process Improvements & Manage Projects : Develop business cases for new requirements or process improvements and manage the implementation, coordinating with key stakeholders such as Unisys IT, cross-functional teams, and payroll providers. Ensure security and audit teams are informed where necessary.
  • Documentation & Auditing : Keep payroll process documentation up-to-date and support internal and external audits in collaboration with finance teams, EMEA/APAC payroll teams, and third-party vendors.

YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or certification in Payroll and Social Security Administration.
  • Fluent English knowledge
  • At least 2-3 years of payroll experience, with a preference for experience in international or multi-country environments.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams and levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong customer service orientation, particularly in resolving complex payroll queries.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with proficiency in payroll systems (knowledge of ADP Celergo / SAP GlobalView is a plus).
  • Experience in vendor management, with an understanding of risk identification and mitigation.
  • Project management experience, particularly in process improvements and payroll system implementations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Communicational level of German knowledge is a plus.
