(C) EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Previous experience in operating in a specialist or leadership role in payroll operations is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Payroll legislation, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Experience in Preceda or Dayforce is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Payroll systems, data analysis, and report generation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated capability to identify, implement and optimise Payroll technologies
  • Experienced in working with large volumes of data to identify anomalies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

ROLE DUTIES

  • Process all activities connected with end-to-end payroll processing related to each authorised pay run to ensure payments to employees and staff are paid accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all payroll payments adhere to Awards, Agreements, Company Policies and Procedures, Fair Work Legislation, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, and other relevant laws.
  • Interpreting differing EBAs and awards.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, site administrators and finance teams in relation to any payroll matters.
  • Plan and implement payroll changes related to new and amended industrial instruments.
  • Effectively leading a team of Payroll Officer and Payroll Support officer , through coaching and development of team members to deliver best payroll services.
  • Upholding high customer service standards and protocols across the business.
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager with reports, reconciliation, and all payroll compliance duties.
  • Continuously enhance payroll system functionality to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Act as the first point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving issues across all payroll systems.
  • Assist with the processing of monthly pay.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate best practices into payroll operations.
