We’re looking for a Senior People Business Partner (fixed-term) to join our team in Auckland. You will play a vital role within our People and Culture team, delivering people-focused strategies and support to our Product & Technology division in the APAC region. As the the go-to person for all things related to the employee experience within your client group, you will collaborate with key stakeholders and managers to provide People and Culture (P&C) services and initiatives that align with the needs and top priorities of our expanding teams.
In this role you will be partnering closely with managers to provide strategic HR guidance in areas like career development, engagement, succession planning, performance management, and talent reviews. The ideal candidate for this role has extensive experience in people business partner roles and the ability to coach in HR-related issues, building solid relationships with various types of personalities and with employees at all levels.
Please note that this role is a 12 month contract covering for parental leave, you will ideally start in this role on the 30th September 2024 (or later in October).

What you’ll be doing:

  • Act as an expert and go-to person for all things related to the employee experience within your client group.
  • Partnering with P&C colleagues and key stakeholders and managers to deliver P&C services and initiatives in line with the needs and priorities of our growing teams.
  • Be a trusted advisor and coach to leadership and play a critical role in enhancing their leadership effectiveness within your client groups.
  • Partnering closely with managers on people-related strategies and offer thought-leadership in areas such as career development, employee engagement, succession planning, compensation, performance management and talent reviews, etc.
  • Build strong relationships with managers and employees, with the ability to coach and mentor management in HR issues.
  • Be the regional lead for DEI (diversity, equity & inclusion) initiatives and work in partnership with our global Director of DEI.
  • Taking on any additional special projects as required by the client groups or P&C team.

What you need to bring:
We are a team of 13 people located in New Zealand, Australia and the Philippines, managing all aspects of HR for the region. Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, APAC, you will work alongside two other People Business Partners.

We’re looking for a candidate who has experience with the following:

  • Extensive experience as a People Business Partner, ideally within the tech industry
  • Knowledge of New Zealand and Australia (nice to have) legal requirements as well as the ability to operate in a global ecosystem
  • Prior expertise in change management, organisational development, and managerial coaching
  • Ability to quickly build rapport with various types of personalities and with employees at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a management and employee group that is widely dispersed
  • Previous experience facilitating difficult discussions, offering feedback to employees at all levels, and coaching on such matters
