As a Senior Performance Manager, you will be a national Employment provision lead, covering England and Wales.
As a member of the Employment Account Division (EAD) Senior Leadership team you will be required to support delivery of Contract Management and Partner Delivery (CMPD) and DWP aims, objectives and vision.
You will lead Senior Performance Management activities and provide support to the Grade 7 Provision Lead.

The role is suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need, but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will be taken into account. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
This is a partnering role and there will be significant travel to visit provider sites and other CMPD and DWP sites as required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This exciting opportunity has arisen within Employment Account Division (EAD) which is part of CMPD. EAD is responsible for the Performance, Budget, Relationship and Compliance Management of DWP’s contracted employment provision, delivered by external providers and partners.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead a team of Performance Managers (PMs), building relationships with Providers at operational delivery level and representing EAD interests, providing advice and guidance on performance and service delivery issues as required.
- To support PMs in the management of under- performance in accordance with the EAD Performance Management Intervention Regime (PMIR).
- Managing interventions with providers to address poor performance.
- Influencing providers to ensure the provision of high-quality, cost-effective services, ultimately achieving better value for money for United Kingdom (UK) taxpayers.
- Seeking commercial and legal agreement to actions where appropriate.
- Monitoring the forecasted spend for your lead provision.
- Represent DWP at senior level with external providers, promoting the work of PMs and encouraging performance improvement.
- Represent Provision performance during Performance Round Up; Risk- Based Approach reviews and other similar meetings.
- Analyse management information across area of responsibility relating to quality, performance, and delivery.
- Ensuring providers have the capacity, infrastructure and required levels of support locally to effectively deliver DWP contracts.
- Lead and drive continuous improvement in performance, quality and service delivery.
- Managing through EAD governance channels, drafting papers where necessary for CMPD Governance Boards and contributing to Ministerial Briefings.
- Commitment to obtain or maintain qualifications required for the role.
