Description:

COME AND JOIN ONE OF THE UK’S LARGEST PROVIDERS OF COMPLEX CARE. WE PROUDLY EMPLOY OVER 4000+ PEOPLE - NO MATTER WHAT YOUR EXPERIENCE, WE HAVE JOBS FOR EVERYONE.

We are thrilled to announce this exciting opportunity for a Senior Physiotherapist to join our highly regarded team at the Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in York.
Woodlands is a purpose-built 27-bed unit, offering specialist Level 2 neurological rehabilitation as well as long term care and support for patients with complex neurological needs. Our team provides specialist treatment to patients with physical and cognitive impairments resulting from acquired/traumatic brain injury and other neurological conditions, such as spinal injury, stroke, Huntington’s disease, and Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Furthermore, plans are underway to admit more acute patients at the early stages of their rehabilitation journey, such as those requiring tracheostomy care.
This role offers the opportunity to become an integral part of an enthusiastic, supportive, experienced multi-disciplinary team, consisting of a Rehabilitation Consultant, Junior Doctor, Neuropsychologist, Speech and Language Therapist, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapists, Specialist Nurses and Rehabilitation Assistants, as well as a full complement of a 24-hour nursing team.
Working within a highly skilled Physiotherapy team, who will provide support and guidance, you will hold your own caseload of patients while supporting our Lead to ensure the provision of an efficient Physiotherapy service.
Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre provides complex neurorehabilitation and is part of the Active Care Group Neuro Network (consisting of 25+ sites nationally) which has a focus on the use of clinical expertise, innovation, and technology to meet patients’ expectations of their rehabilitation goals. We are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care that guides both clinical and administrative decisions. In addition, to support the ongoing professional development of our team, we provide funding and resources for postgraduate training opportunities.
If you are passionate about neurological rehabilitation, delivering high-quality patient care and enjoy working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Ensure the provision of a high-quality physiotherapy service and its place within the multidisciplinary team
  • Perform advanced neurological and respiratory physiotherapy assessments and treatment to patients, often with diverse, complex, or multiple pathologies and presentations
  • Assist our Lead to develop and manage the physiotherapy service and staff
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner to formulate a treatment plan and management programme according to assessment findings and to develop and maintain high standards of patient care
  • Use highly developed physical skills to support patients who have a neurological impairment to maximise independence
  • Liaise with family, carers and significant others where appropriate to ensure patients’ needs are met to a high standard
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, visitors, carers, members of the multi-disciplinary care team and senior professional and managerial staff
