Job Role : First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP)
Salary : Up to £50,056 FTE, dependent on experience
Job Type : Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Location : North Hampshire (clinics around the Basingstoke / Alton area)
Start date : ASAP

Responsibilities:

This role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern and ideally have their own transport and full UK driving licence, as travel between sites is required.
Due the expansion of our First Contact Physiotherapy services, our client is looking to recruit band 7/8 Physiotherapists to work in an MSK role, across GP clinics.This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a forward-thinking MSK service

As a First Contact Physiotherapist, you will:

  • Work as an FCP within the MSK service and local GP practices in Greenwich alongside other clinicians such as fellow physios, APPs, MSK Physicians and consultants.
  • Undertake highly specialised & comprehensive neuro-musculoskeletal assessments, of routine and complex patients.
  • Form accurate diagnoses, management plans and prognosis, using advanced clinical reasoning skills, knowledge of best current clinical and evidence based practice and assimilation/interpretation of clinical diagnostic tests.
  • Independently refer for diagnostic procedures such as MRI, USS, X-Ray and NCS (after appropriate training/supervision if necessary).
  • Refer patients onto appropriate specialities within primary and secondary care.
  • Independently administer joint and soft tissue injections (or be willing to work towards such a skill)
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients and medical colleagues regarding assessment, management and treatment choices
  • Contribute to, and participate in, on-going development/IST within the MSK team.
  • Work in a unified manner with other team members across the MSK service in following, and developing, clinical pathways.
  • Triage incoming MSK referrals and make decisions regarding most appropriate referral onto care providers either within, or outside, the service.
  • Provide an excellent level of service to all patients and stakeholders.
  • Supervise physiotherapists and MSK Practitioners in their provision of clinical care.
