ABOUT US:

The Chantry is a specialist neurological centre in Ipswich. We support people to thrive after a brain injury and/or a range of other neurological conditions such as Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s, and multiple sclerosis. We are committed to providing innovative neurorehabilitation and long-term complex care and disability management to improve the quality of life for people with acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions.

Responsibilities:

MAIN PURPOSE:

To provide a physiotherapy service at senior level by assessing, implementing (by self or junior staff) and evaluating programmes of person-centred care as part of the multi-disciplinary team. To ensure continuity and consistency regarding service users’ physical management. To demonstrate a senior level of clinical, technical and research skills through breadth and depth of knowledge.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for assessment of service user needs in relation particularly to optimising independence and physical function
  • To undertake comprehensive assessment of service users, using investigative and analytical skills to formulate individualised rehabilitation and treatment plans
  • To promote choice in all aspects of clinical practice reviewing and making suggestions to enhance the service user experience and enabling concerns and complaints to be raised freely by service user and their representatives
  • To liaise and communicate with other health and social care professionals and volunteers in the planning and delivery of occupational therapy
  • To ensure appropriate prescription, provision and maintenance of equipment within available resources
  • To ensure that up to date written and electronic records are maintained in accordance with Professional and Brankind standards, and that sensitive information is held securely
  • To demonstrate clinical leadership and promote clinical supervision.
  • To share knowledge and expertise with other staff through formal and informal teaching
  • To lead on the localised training plan for Brainkind staff to provide physiotherapy interventions as part of overall care
  • Facilitating the safe and smooth running of the Service, the post holder is expected to maintain a safe working environment, maintain service user confidentiality, and occasionally taking on reasonable additional tasks
