We are looking for a Senior Pipeline Stress Engineer to join our team you will be responsible for conducting and/or reviewing comprehensive stress analysis on new or existing pipelines or pipeline systems to meet design standards for allowable stress.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to perform the following responsibilities:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with EGBC as well as APEGA
- Strong understanding of CSA Z662, ASME B31.3.
- Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoPIPE, CAESAR II.
- Strong verbal and written communicator.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- 8-15years of experience, (10 years plus extensive stress analysis experience in Canada on Oil and Gas pipeline and facilities projects) years of pipeline stress experience at an EPCM, or Owner Operator.
Responsibilities:
- Perform or review stress analysis using software tools (AutoPipe & CAESAR II ) on brownfield and greenfield pipeline and Facilities projects in the Canadian Oil & Gas sector.
- Well versed with stress based and strain-based design requirements.
- Practical experience of the stress analysis on large diameter oil and gas pipeline.
- A good working experience on the facilities, compressor/pump station stress analysis.
- Proficient in stress modeling and analysis while meeting CSA Z662 and ASME B31.3 code requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of soils and spoil springs
- Extensive experience with deep muskeg crossing design, HDD tie-in analysis and overbend analysis
- Working experience with Geohazard mitigations, pipeline on slopes, above ground and buried.
- Write stress reports and should be able to defend design when meeting with the clients.
- B. Sc. Or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with a valid P. Eng. Status.
- Review pipeline designs against applicable design codes and for stress compliance.
- Working with a multidisciplinary team, provide technical guidance and inputs throughout project lifecycles on stress related matters.
- Develop piping specifications and material selection.
- Review mechanical piping and pipeline engineering drawings against applicable design codes and standards.
- Stay updated on industry developments and best practices in pipeline stress analysis.
