Senior PL/SQL Developer

We are looking for a Senior PL/SQL Developer for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Required Skills and Experience

• Undergraduate degree or diploma in related field of study
• Minimum 6+ years of PL/SQL development experience
• 6 years’ experience in Web Development and Deployment
• 6 years’ experience with Oracle SQL * Plus
• Experience with Agile methodologies, test driven development and quality assurance testing methods
• Development platforms/technologies: Java, Excel, XML, AWS
• Working knowledge of deploying applications with Docker
• Experience with programming development tools and source controls systems (SQL Developer, Eclipse, Maven, GIT)
• Experience with Energy Components Development is an asset
• Working experience with Linux is an asset
• Familiar with North American Oil & Gas domain knowledge, particularly field data capture or production accounting or Crown Royalty accounting is an asset
• Knowledge of Field Data Capture (FDC) and Upstream Accounting business processes is an asset
• Knowledge of Production Accounting business processes is an asse

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Senior PL/SQL Developer’s primary role will be to work closely with the project team to provide support on an Energy Components (EC) upgrade and develop required EC functionality. To be successful as the Senior PL/ SQL Developer, you will need to be ready to work in a dynamic, fast-paced atmosphere, be able to work on tight deadlines and be competent in applicable technologies including Oracle and PL/SQL. An undergraduate degree in a related field of study and at least five (5) years of relevant database development experience is required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the implementation team and subject matter experts to ensure custom solutions are meeting the project outcomes and the identified needs of the business
• Writing high-quality code to program complete applications on schedule
• Design creative prototypes according to specifications
• Troubleshoot and debug applications
• Develop technical documents and documentation to accurately represent application design and code
• Integrating data from various back-end services and databases
• Create and maintain software documentation
• Manage the code in the code library
• Partner with the quality assurance team members to ensure that the test plan and test cases validate the expected outcomes and requirements
• Perform unit and integration testing before launch
• Conduct functional and non-functional testing
• Responsible for managing/participating in and contributing to test plan and test script development
• Partner with the Run organization to ensure a successful transition to operations
• Participate in transition to operations work and deliverables
