WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU BRING?
- Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related technical or business discipline (e.g. civil, electrical or mechanical engineering, project management), and progressive experience in planning and scheduling and/or project management; or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience related to planning and scheduling through the end-to-end project lifecycle, from project initiation, planning, executing, controlling, monitoring to closing; good understanding of integration between project functions
- Sound understanding of basic engineering and construction methodologies; ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- Mastery of planning and scheduling principles and methods, and gate processes; full project lifecycle experience
- Demonstrated experience with all aspects of the Master Project Schedule (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning Schedules) in addition to cost control and project controls in a construction environment.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing design & construction schedules in the early stages of the projects
- Demonstrated experience in different delivery models other than Design-Bid-Build (Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, Construction Manager at Risk etc.)
- Effective communication, influencing skills, and maintaining collaborative work relationships
- Demonstrated experience with time impact analysis, what-if scenarios, and recovery schedules
- Experience working on large projects as well as multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Excellent project reporting skills, including analyzing schedules, variance analysis, project performance measurements, explaining the key performance indicators, creating dashboard and other project reports
- Leadership skills including goal-setting, performance management, employee development and coaching
- Ability to review and evaluate recommendations proposed by others, exercising independent judgment to ensure consistency with business goals
- Strong time management; ability to prioritize and balance competing demands in a deadline driven environment
- Well-developed organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills for managing large datasets
- Must have or acquire knowledge of TTC and departmental policies, practices and standards relevant to the work performed
- Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees
- Certified Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) with the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) or PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) is an asset

Responsibilities:
You will be providing functional leadership to the assigned project teams and Project Schedulers, in the provision of planning and scheduling services, while supervising assigned Project Schedulers, including delegating and reviewing work, ensuring adequate training and evaluating performances. You will support the project team and schedulers in conducting interactive planning sessions, pull planning workshops. Alongside, you will support the other project controls functional areas in the estimation process, project cost baseline development, evaluating risks and the change management process.
As the Senior Planner and Scheduler will lead planning workshops with different stakeholders and develop different levels of design and construction schedules in the early stages of the project, while ensuring consistency in planning and scheduling practices among projects. In this role, you will also be attending internal and external integration and interface meetings in order to manage the project effectively.
You will also be responsible for preparing the project controls section of the dashboard and executive reports and will be analyzing data to identify trends, continuous improvement opportunities and risks to leverage and mitigate. As well as continuously review processes and systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
