About the role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Planner to join our team and lead the development and management of complex construction schedules for our M25/Junction 25 highways project. This role is crucial in ensuring optimal resource utilisation and strict adherence to timescales, directly contributing to the success of the projects and as a Senior Planner, you will provide strategic oversight, mentor the wider planning team, and apply advanced scheduling techniques to drive project efficiency and effectiveness.
What you’ll be doing

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedule Development - Lead the creation and management of detailed project schedules that comply with planning procedures and guidance. Ensuring that all program content is functionally compliant.
  • Scope Identification - Skillfully identify planning scope, major constraints, and contract requirements, whilst also determining key qualities and factors affecting the program.
  • Tender Collaboration - Utilise your expertise to collaboratively develop and agree on strategic sequencing and methodologies for design, procurement, construction strategies, ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
  • Compliance - Meticulously produce and document comprehensive planning deliverables, including project planning, presentations and reports. Ensuring all outputs meet stringent tender requirements.
  • Contract Management - At the contract stage, assume responsibility for the production, management and maintenance of the contract including the execution of change control processes.
  • Resource Management - Expertly manage labour, equipment and materials to achieve project objectives whilst minimising cost and delays.
  • Mentorship - Provide strategic planning oversight and mentorship to less experienced planners.
  • Data Analysis - Assist the planning team in producing project data and key performance indicators (KPIs) track progress, identify deviations and make data led decision for improvements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Maintain effective communications with internal teams and external project stakeholders to ensure alignment and address any project-related issues.

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Analytical Skills - Strong analytical and problems-solving capabilities to identify and address planning challenges.
  • Communication - Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Leadership - Proven experience in leading planning efforts for construction projects, with a successful track record of project delivery.
  • Technical Proficiency - Advanced competence in project management tools and software (excel, MS Project, Primavera P6, ASTA).
  • Industry Knowledge - Comprehensive understanding of construction project management principles, methodologies and best practice.
  • Relationship Management - Previous experience managing relationships with clients, subcontractors, and the stakeholders, demonstrating interpersonal skills.
