POSITION OVERVIEW:

Startec is currently recruiting a Senior Planner/Scheduler to work at our Calgary Office location (9423 Shepard Road SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 4R6). The Senior Planner/Scheduler, will play a crucial role in the Project Controls team, overseeing and coordinating all aspects of project planning and scheduling. Reporting to the Project Controls and Project Service Manager, the Senior Planner/Scheduler’s primary responsibility is to develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, considering all tasks, resources, and timelines required for successful project execution. The Senior Planner/Scheduler will analyze project requirements, assess potential risks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth progression of projects. The Senior Planner/Scheduler will be skilled in critical path analysis, schedule risking, resource allocation and will contribute to optimizing project timelines and resource utilization. Additionally, this role will provide regular updates on project progress, address any schedule deviations, and assist in identifying solutions to keep projects on track. As a key member of the Project Controls team, the Senior Planner/Scheduler’s strategic planning and scheduling efforts will contribute to the timely and efficient completion of projects, meeting or exceeding client expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+years of experience as a Planner/Scheduler in a project-based environment.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is an asset.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and scheduling techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong time management and prioritization abilities.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles.
