The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Manager to join our team, with experience in Rail or Metro-related projects. As a key member of the project management team, you will be responsible for leading the planning and scheduling efforts on a large-scale infrastructure project, ensuring it is delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing planning activities for complex rail or metro systems and will be able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Scheduling: • Lead and manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of project schedules for large-scale rail or metro projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives and milestones. Resource Allocation: • Coordinate the allocation of resources (labor, materials, equipment) to ensure the timely execution of the project, working closely with construction, procurement, and other departments. Risk Management: • Identify potential risks and issues related to scheduling, resources, and project deliverables, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize delays and disruptions. Progress Monitoring & Reporting: • Continuously monitor project progress, prepare detailed progress reports, and communicate any deviations from the project plan to senior stakeholders. Ensure that corrective actions are taken when necessary. Collaboration: • Work closely with project engineers, contractors, and other team members to resolve scheduling issues and optimize project delivery. Provide expert guidance and support to the project team in planning matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field. • Minimum 9 Years experience on Rail related projects • Proven track record in successfully managing large-scale, complex projects from inception through to completion. • Strong experience with planning and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and other relevant software. • Cost Control & Budgeting: Assist in tracking project costs and ensuring that scheduling and planning activities stay within budget. Identify opportunities for cost savings or value engineering in project planning. • Contractor & Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure that the planning processes are adhered to and that expectations are managed across all stakeholders. • Change Management: Manage scope changes and evaluate their impact on the project schedule, ensuring that changes are incorporated into the project planning documents and communicated effectively. • Quality Assurance: Ensure that planning processes and schedules meet the required industry standards and best practices, with a particular focus on safety and environmental requirements. • Mentoring & Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior planners and other team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
