Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 6+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with at least 4 years specializing in Microsoft Azure
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in Azure services including Virtual Machines, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Active Directory, Azure SQL, Vnet/VWAN, and Azure Databricks.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with automation tools such as Terraform, PowerShell, and Azure DevOps.
  • 3+ years of experience deploying architecture solutions into cloud environments via CI/CD pipelines
  • 3+ years of experience with architecture diagramming tools (e.g., Visio, LucidChart, Miro, etc.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert or similar certifications are preferred.
  • Proven experience in the design, deployment, and management of large-scale cloud solutions (preferably in financial services environments)
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles including encryption and identity, networking policies, and access management.
  • Exposure to cloud governance and logging/monitoring tooling.
  • Understanding, engineering, and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity playbooks
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams

Responsibilities:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Platform Architect specializing in Microsoft Azure to design, implement, and drive enablement of comprehensive cloud solutions for Enterprise Functions Technologies (EFT).

In this role, you will:

  • Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
  • Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solution
  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of Azure cloud architecture solutions to meet EFT’s business needs
  • Collaborate with IT teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to define and implement cloud strategies.
  • Implement best practices for cloud security, governance, and compliance, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and cloud security frameworks.
  • Drive the adoption of automation and DevOps methodologies for continuous integration/continuous deployment for the cloud solutions that are designed.
  • Optimize cloud resources for performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to cloud engineers and development teams.
  • Stay up to date with emerging cloud technologies and trends and help guide adoption of their use within EFT.
  • Ensure cloud designs meet disaster recovery and business continuity requirements while providing playbooks on how to execute against the design expectations.
