Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
The Senior Policy Manager will work with the Head of Operations and the wider Elgin leadership team to advocate for Elgin within trade associations and engage with industry across each of its active markets. The successful candidate will work closely with heads of department to ensure Elgin is up to date on all relevant policy and active consultations relating to utility scale solar and storage sector. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in stakeholder engagement, policy analysis, and strategic thinking, as well as a commitment to the company’s mission and values.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Analyse and monitor policy developments and regulatory changes in Ireland, UK and other European markets that affect our utility scale solar and storage projects and operations.
- Managing engagement with industry trade associations including Solar Energy UK and the Irish Solar Energy Association among others
- Prepare and deliver policy briefings, submissions, presentations and reports to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, investors, media and public.
- Active participation and company representation at industry forums, events and working groups
- Managing and co-ordinating consultation responses when required including engagement with trade associations with same
- Developing a network of contacts through key organizations and leveraging pre-existing networks.
- Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams, such as project development, construction, grid connections, asset management, engineering, finance and legal, to ensure policy alignment and coherence across the organisation.
- Identify and pursue new policy opportunities and partnerships that enhance our competitive edge and market position.
- Provide policy advice and guidance to senior management and other internal stakeholders on key policy issues and trends.
